SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS
ARTIST WORKSHOP @KCUA by Ellen Altfest
The Hundred Steps
This exhibition showed the results of “The Hundred Steps,” a painting workshop in which New York-based artist Ellen Altfest acted as teacher as part of the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ project which sought internationalization through the invitation of foreign artists as mentors for young Japanese artists. On exhibit were pieces made throughout the workshop by the 7 participants and representative pieces of Altfest’s work. As well as being being able to see the growth of the artists through the 6-month project as they tackled a number of themes, the exhibition was also very impressive in showing painting that transcends fashion, time, and culture.
Invited lecturer: Ellen Altfest
Artists: Tetsuro Kano / Yasuhiro Kiyota / Masahiro Sekiguchi / Itsuha Seno / Yumi Nakata / Yuki Hasegawa / Yuko Murase
