Futoshi Miyagi was born in Okinawa has worked mainly in Tokyo and New York. His first solo exhibition in the Kansai region featured his project American Boyfriend, in which Miyagi reflects on his own sexual identity and creates works in various formats including photographs and films, dealing with the themes of race, nationality, sexuality and more. Approximately 18 works were shown in Gallery A and at the Horikawa Housing Complex, including his representative video work The Ocean View Resort, a new video piece titled River, and a new text-based piece titled Bodies of Water.
